Wembley Stallions 63 – 0 East Essex Sabres

The East Essex Sabres travelled to the Wembley Stallions over the weekend who currently stand top of the B.A.F.A SFC East Division 2, after having their last game postponed the Sabres were keen to get back on the field and hopefully get there season back on track.

The Stallions however showed just why they stand top of the league going in at halftime 43-0 and with another twenty points added in the second half it was the Wembley Stallions who ran out emphatic winners 63-0.

Head Coach Lee Joseph had this to say after the game, “Tough day today… battling against the heat and the top team in the division…

Have to say I think the players grew as a team today and as a team I think we all took a big step forward. Even though we lost today I feel as a team we grew. I think this team didnt quit today… Every individual¬† played until the last play of the game.

I feel like this is about to be a different team going into our next game… im feeling very possitive about our next game”

Quarterback and Receivers coach Mike Muldoon remained positive and says, “Another loss today, but the Sabres offense is beginning to show signs of life moving the ball fairly well on a great opponent. Now we just need to limit mistakes and finish drives”

Defensive Coordinator Kirk Beacham had this to say, “Although it was a tough day and unfortunately another loss, I’m proud of our players today and I’m certain they learned a lot. We just came up against our toughest game, against the likely division winners on the hottest day of the year. This is a day which our young team can learn from and build on as we focus on our next game”
